  1. What did you like and dislike about micro teaching.

I enjoyed being able to present a lesson online. I am a bit of an introvert therefore doing an online presentation was out of my comfort zone however not a very bad experience, my voice does sound a bit more squeeky online than it does in person. I wouldnt mind doing online lessons in the future. I dislike the unforseen circumstances, although one prepaers for loadshedding, back up on data, technology is unpredictable. What i dislike about this platform is that the teacher is not able to think on their feet like for example when a learner gets kicked out of the session it is pretty much out of the teachers hands and parenst can only help as much as they can. Although one makes use of online digetal tools , its not as interactive as a face to face class, the classroom management might be to a minimal online but the teacher could alos be loosing the learners and she wouldnt even know. However I enjoyed presenting a lesson to my peers.

2. What new skills did you learn through this experience.

I learnerd to use online digital tools apart from Kahoot. I learner how to upload slides on an online space as well as navigating the system.

3. What would you do differently.

I would repeat all instruction at least three times so that learners are aware what to do. I would make the reading lesson more intearctive in the sensce of asking more quetions in between the story. Although my peers commented that they enjoyed the story and that swicthing between Afrikaaans and Englsih gave them a better understanding of the story.

4. Did you choose appropriate tools your online lesson.

I beleive I choose the appropriate tools as the power point presentation illustrated a reading book for the classroom setting. I make use of the cursor on the blackboard platform that allowed my peers to follow along as I read my story. The online digital tool was easy to follow and easy to access. I beleive that the quiz was appropriate for a grade 3 term 3 level provided that the learners listen and follow along as the teacher reads the story.

5. How has this experience developed you for teaching in a school.

Teaching a lesson online has given me the opportunity to be at the other end of the online classroom. As a covid baby being a first year student in 2020 was a big adjustment and it was always hard for me to switch on my mic and participate using my mic, I would always use the chatbox, however this opportunity forced me to use my mic and it turn out to not be as bad as I thought it would be. I am more open to the online teaching space although its not easy to plan a lesson for the online space.

A well articulated reflection. An amazing and honest view of your own work, you are willing to try out new things and your overall reflection shows that you have a teachable spirit. Well done!

A very thorough reflection showing that you have taken the time to sit and identify how your lesson was. Your reflection definitely highlights your experience through the online platform reflecting on how you navigated through it as well as how you adjusted your Afrikaans lesson through the platform. You show a great level of understanding of areas of growth and development as well as things you did well and excelled through. Reflecting on both the good and the bad is a great skill as you can identify what you do well and what you could work on. I agree with you that your tools were effective.
